New Delhi : The Jammu and Kashmir Government participated in the 3rd World Food India edition in New Delhi, which wrapped up on September 22, 2024.
The JKTPO sponsored pavilion at World Food India featured an array of J&K’s signature products, including fruits, spices, dry fruits, honey, aromatic products etc. The event enabled J&K exhibitors to establish crucial business connections, explore new markets and expand their export footprint.
World Food India 2024, a remarkable four day food event, was organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 19th to 22nd, 2024.
The region showcased its unique products through seven exhibitors sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO). This strategic participation not only highlighted J&K’s rich agricultural heritage but also facilitated vital connections between local businesses and international buyers, fostering an environment ripe for collaboration and growth.
The event enabled J&K’s entrepreneurs to tap into global markets, unlocking opportunities for sustainable economic development. By leveraging platforms like World Food India, the region aims to boost its trade and export potential,
At the J&K Pavilion, international buyers from 17 countries including South Africa, Iran, Malaysia, Vietnam, Kenya, USA, Oman, Lebanon, Australia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Netherlands, and Bhutan engaged in productive B2B meetings with J&K exhibitors. These interactions yielded significant outcomes, with buyers sampling local products and placing on spot orders, particularly for GI-tagged Saffron, Honey and Basmati.
Notably, Wancho Sons, a local exhibitor, secured a substantial order for GI-tagged Saffron from African and Malaysian buyers. The other exhibitors are also expecting valuable orders from the potential buyers who were engaged in negotiations with them. Notable on-spot sales were also registered by certain exhibitors.
