Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Kupwara and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Lalpora at a checkpoint established in their jurisdiction, intercepted two individuals identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh Hassan Sheikh R/o Batpora Magam Handwara and Tahir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh Mohammad Sheikh R/o Tujer Sharief Sopore and during search recovered 60 grams of charas from their possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 67/2024 was registered at Police Station Lalpora besides initiating investigation, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation for eradicating the drug menace from the society.
