Jammu, Sep 22 (UNI) Describing a BJP government in J&K as a guarantee for lasting peace, party national president J P Nadda on Sunday said that the National Conference and Congress are pursuing Pakistani agenda and want to push the region towards unrest and revive terrorism.

He attacked Congress, National Conference, and Peoples Democratic Party for acting as Pakistan’s agents wanting to revive a situation like the 1990s when thousands of people died due to militancy.

Nadda was addressing public rallies at Barnai, Greater Kailash and interacting with intellectuals at Jammu ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections in J&K on September 25 in which voting will be held on 26 seats spread across Ganderbal, Srinagar, Budgam, Poonch, Reasi and Rajouri districts.

“NC-Congress are misleading the people by promising restoration of Article 370,” Nadda said, adding, “These parties are following the agenda of Pakistan as has been stated by the Pakistan Defence Minister.”

He said that Article 370 is history now and no one can bring it back. “Today, there is one constitution, one flag and one PM,” he said, while adding, “Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s dream has been fulfilled by PM Modi.”

He said that BJP’s victory in J&K is essential for the interests of the country and people and added that there is a strong wave in favour of the party.

Under PM Modi’s leadership, J&K will be the most developed state of the country and India will soon become world’s third largest economy.

He said that today, India’s name is held in such high esteem globally that it no longer gets mentioned alongside Pakistan, which has remained stagnant.

Nadda said that PM Modi has crushed terrorism and any terrorist entering Jammu and Kashmir today doesn’t survive for more than a week.

He urged the people of Jammu to vote for BJP candidates saying, “BJP is guarantee to peace and development”.

He said that the first movement to oppose Article 370 began under Mookerjee’s leadership.

The Jana Sangh was formed in 1952, and by 1953, the movement against Article 370 had started. In June 1953, Mookerjee was arrested in Lakhanpur and martyred in a Srinagar jail, he said.

Nadda further said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Indian politics has adopted the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (inclusive development), establishing accountability and transparency in governance.

He said that rather than distributing money, the Modi government empowered people by supporting the weakest sections of society with investments worth Rs 1.25 crore.

Later in the evening, Nadda took out a road show in Jammu city, starting from Parade Ground and passing through Moti Bazaar, Old Mandi, and Raghunath Temple.
