No AFSPA revocation till “permanent peace” is restored in J&K: Def Minister

Jammu: Slamming the Congress, National Conference, and the Peoples Democratic Party, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that only the BJP party can give back the statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir.

“It is only the BJP that can bring statehood status back to Jammu and Kashmir,” Singh said addressing a public rally at Dussehra Ground, Sainik Colony while campaigning for party candidate Dr Narinder Singh from Jammu South.

“Vote to form BJP government, J&K will get the statehood status back,” said Singh, adding that spread a message to every house that Statehood will be restored to Jammu and Kashmir once the BJP forms the government and it has already been promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that a record 61 percent voter turnout was recorded in the first phase of J&K Assembly Polls and it was possible only after abrogation of Article 370.

Article 370 abrogation has brought prosperity, peace, and development in Jammu and Kashmir and no force in this world can restore it, said Singh.

Singh also said that residents of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) are our brothers and we wish to merge that part with India.

“People of PoK want to merge with the Union of India as they are impressed with the transformation taking place in Jammu and Kashmir and the development in India. We are open to embracing PoK people with open arms and allowing them to lead a dignified life,” he said.

“Leaders living in India should only do the politics of their own country not become the proxy of Pakistan in these elections”, the Defence Minister asserted and also said that why again and again such issues of a broken INDIA alliance are being raised by those who are coming from the Pakistan…what is the need. These are the people who raised questions on Pulwama incident, surgical strike, and air strike and asked for the evidence.

The same questions are coming from Pakistan…why it happens…They also raised the issue of Galwan in Ladakh Union Territory,” he questioned.

“I want to tell all across the border that India will not allow the Pakistani agenda on the soil of Jammu and Kashmir now”, Rajnath asserted.

“Pakistan is bowing for the bailout Package of 7 billion US Dollars from the International Monetary Fund. The Package Pakistan is asking for from the IMF, Government of India has sanctioned ten times more to Jammu and Kashmir under the PM Package fund”, he said.
