Langate segment: Er. Rashid’s brother faces tough challenge from PC

Srinagar, Sep 23: North Kashmir Member Parliament Er Sheikh Abdur Rashid popularly known as Er Rashid today triggered a row by claiming that he had the credible evidence that there was a “secret alliance” between Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari and Peoples Conference president Sajad Lone in Kashmir.

“Let me tell my people that both these politicians are feeling unnerved by Awami Itihad Party’s (AIP’s) popularity right from south Kashmir to centre let alone north Kashmir that gave me a historic mandate,” Er Rashid as per News Vibes of India (NVI) said while speaking live on his Facebook page. The AIP chief, who is out on bail till October 4, asserted that he was having credible evidence about a secret tactical alliance between PC president Sajad Lone who would call PM Narendera Modi as Badha bhai (elder brother) and Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari.

“Their alliance is behind the curtains only to defeat me. But they should read the writing on the wall that AIP Tsunami will sweep everyone having dual character,” he said.

Launching a scathing attack on the National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah for thanking Apni Party leader Muntazir Mohiudin for withdrawing papers and leaving an open ground for Omar in Budgam, Er Rashid said: “I was astonished to see Omar thanking Muntazir Mohiuddin for his support in Budgam. He is the same leader (Omar) who until a few days would call Apni Party a B-Team of BJP,” he said.

Er Rashid said that Omar has lost ground and is resorting to cheap means of politics. “He is begging for votes only to become an MLA. At Ganderbal, he removed his cap to seek votes and in Budgam he is thanking the BJP’s B-Team leader,” Er Rashid said.

He said that NC is having the lust for power as proved in the past. “NC founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah launched a plebiscite movement and was lodged in jail for 22 years. When he was arrested he was a Prime Minister,” said Er Rashid, adding that “When Sheikh was released, he agreed to become a Chief Minister of the State where he was a PM. He was the one who would call Congress people insects of gutter but he joined hands with the same people only for power.”

Er Rashid said NC leaders be it Dr Farooq Abdullah or Omar Abdullah have only one agenda “Power, Power and Power.”

Taking a dig at senior BJP leader Tarun Chug for claiming that some leaders from NC would meet him in the dead of the night, Er Rashid said: “The BJP leaders must name and shame these leaders. Why is he shying away? If he is speaking the truth, he should name those who are meeting him in the dark. Why is he triggering infighting among Kashmiris,” Er Rashid asked.
