Modi’s Call In Kashmir: “Vote For Empowerment, Not Exploitation”

“Prime Minister made several significant announcements for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir if the BJP is voted to power. These include the restoration of statehood, Rs 10,000 annual assistance to farmers, Rs 18,000 annual assistance to women heads of families, and enhancing health insurance coverage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. “We have promised in Parliament that we will restore Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. The BJP will fulfill this commitment”

This week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress, National Conference (NC), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of putting the future of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth at stake for political gains. Speaking at a rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar, PM Modi said these three families handed stones to the youth instead of opportunities, perpetuating a cycle of violence and unrest in the region. “We will not allow the three families of Jammu and Kashmir to destroy another generation,” he said, adding that his government is committed to restoring peace in the region and ensuring a bright future for its young people.

Three Families Handed Stones To Youth”;Modi’s Stern Rebuke: Modi did not mince words as he blamed the Congress, NC, and PDP for inciting violence and depriving the youth of Jammu and Kashmir of a peaceful and prosperous future. “These families handed the youth stones instead of books and laptops. They destroyed the future of our children for their selfish political gains,” the Prime Minister asserted. He vowed to defeat all forces conspiring against Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized that his government is dedicated to providing employment opportunities to the region’s youth. “Restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir is my promise,” he said.

Schools, Colleges Functioning Smoothly in J&K: Highlighting the positive changes under his government, Modi pointed out that schools and colleges are now functioning normally across Jammu and Kashmir, a stark contrast to the past when strikes and violence would often lead to closures. “Children today have pens, books, and laptops in their hands instead of stones,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the days of disruption and violence in the region are over.

Rejecting The Past;Modi Condemns Strike Culture: In his speech, PM Modi sharply criticized the political parties that have ruled Jammu and Kashmir in the past, accusing them of wanting to bring back the disruptive days of strikes and bloodshed. “In the last 35 years, Kashmir was closed for 3,000 days—that’s equivalent to eight years of bandhs. In the last five years, Kashmir has not closed even for eight hours,” he noted.

He further asked the audience if they wanted to return to the old days of violence, strikes, and losses in trade, urging them to reject the calls of these political parties for a return to the past.

“They want to close cinema halls, disrupt trade, and allow corruption in recruitment. But we are here to ensure that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are provided with employment and opportunities,” Modi emphasized.

Restoring Peace, Progress,Modi’s Promise To J&K: Modi reiterated his commitment to restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir, stating that his government has been working with honesty and dedication towards this goal. “We no longer hear reports of school burnings. Instead, we hear about new schools, new colleges, AIIMS, medical colleges, and IITs being built,” he said, underlining the progress being made in the region. He also accused the Congress, NC, and PDP of bringing fear and anarchy to Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that their political agenda has always been to deprive the people of their legitimate rights.

The Youth Rising Against Political Exploitation: PM Modi said youth of Jammu and Kashmir, who were once held back by the previous governments, are now rising up to challenge the political exploitation they faced. “The same youth, whose future was ruined by these three families, are now standing up against them,” he said. PM highlighted the suffering endured by the youth during the rule of these families, which he claimed often went untold. Modi also reminded the people of Jammu and Kashmir of the political atmosphere of the 1980s, when the region’s politics was dominated by a few families who treated it as their own fiefdom. “They did not want anyone else to come forward, which is why they stopped the Panchayat, DDC, and BDC elections,” he said, suggesting that these elections would have brought new faces and voices to the forefront.

“The Youth Lost Faith In Democracy”: Modi’s Criticism Of Past Governments: Modi blamed the three political families for the loss of faith in democracy among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. “The youth felt that whether they voted or not, only these three families would come to power,” he said, condemning the damage caused by their selfishness.  He also accused them of committing injustices against minorities, including Kashmiri Pandits and Sikhs, who have historically played a significant role in fostering communal harmony in the region.

Modi’s Promise For J&K’s Future: During his rally, the Prime Minister made several significant announcements for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir if the BJP is voted to power. The BJP will fulfill this commitment,” he said, emphasizing that the fast progress and speedy development of the region are top priorities for his government.

“The way forward for Jammu and Kashmir requires a balanced approach focused on peace, development, and empowerment. Sustaining the current peace and stability is essential to prevent any return to unrest, ensuring that security is maintained while fostering political engagement. Economic development will play a crucial role, particularly through infrastructure projects that generate employment opportunities for the region’s youth.”

A Historic Participation In The Elections: Referring to the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Modi hailed the first phase of voting as a festival of democracy. He praised the people for coming out to vote in large numbers, despite the region’s turbulent past. “On September 18, voting took place in seven districts during the first phase. For the first time, elections were held without the shadow of militancy,” he said, expressing pride in the high voter turnout. Modi noted that many constituencies, including Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban, recorded over 70 per cent voter turnout, breaking previous records.

“A New History Is Being Written In J&K”, Says Modi: The Prime Minister said that the massive participation of people in the elections reflects their aspirations, which have touched new heights. “Today, the world is witnessing how the people of Jammu and Kashmir are strengthening democracy in India,” he said, congratulating the people of the region.

Modi’s Message In Kashmiri: Striking A Personal Bond With The Audience: In an attempt to connect with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi began his speech in Kashmiri, greeting the audience with, “Myanen saarni kashir bayen te baenen chu myoan saetha saetha namaskar. Kyah haal chaal chu? (Greetings to all my Kashmiri brothers and sisters. How are you?).” The crowd responded with applause, signaling the strong bond Modi aimed to establish with the region.

Modi Promises Statehood Of J&K In Katra: PM Modi took a dig at the Congress and National Conference (NC), remarking that while these parties may have lost their relevance in India, they were being celebrated across the border. “Nobody is giving them any importance here, but in Pakistan, inki balle balle ho rahi hai (they are being celebrated),” he quipped. He firmly stated that the reinstatement of Article 370 is off the table as long as the BJP is in power. “We will not allow Pakistan’s agenda to be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP is committed to restoring statehood to J&K, as promised on the floor of the House,” the Prime Minister reiterated.

Modi Targets Congress; “The Most Corrupt Family”: During the rally, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress, accusing its leaders of being at the heart of corruption in India. “The Congress’ royal family is the most corrupt family in the nation. They have nurtured corruption in India. What’s worse, their leaders had the audacity to label the royal family of Dogras as corrupt on their own land,” he said, condemning their remarks. He criticized Congress for using its old strategy of spreading hatred in the name of love. “They sell ‘Nafrat Ka Saman’ (items of hatred) in the name of ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukan’ (shop of love),” Modi said, referring to the hollow promises made by Congress.

BJP’s Commitment To Jammu; Correcting Historical Wrongs: Modi emphasized BJP’s focus on the multi-sectoral development of Jammu, an area neglected by the Congress, NC, and PDP for decades. He pointed to several historical injustices committed by previous governments, particularly concerning water resources.

“These parties allowed our water to flow across the border without constructing a dam at Shahpur Kandi. It was the BJP that built the dam, ensuring water supply for hundreds of farmers who now earn their livelihoods from it,” he noted.

“Congress Attacking Dogra Culture on Its Own Soil”: PM Modi accused Congress of undermining the Dogra heritage and culture, calling out the party for adopting a “Naxal and imported mindset.” He warned the people of Jammu to be cautious, as Congress’s approach would destroy the region’s traditional values and culture. “Under this Naxal thinking, Congress attacked the Dogra heritage in Jammu and promoted corruption nationwide,” Modi said, adding that Congress’s attempts to tarnish the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh stand in stark contrast to the BJP’s decision to declare a public holiday in his honor.

Neglect of Reasi , Kathua by NC,Congress: The Prime Minister criticized both NC and Congress for neglecting the regions of Reasi and Kathua for decades. In contrast, Modi cited the BJP’s achievements, including the construction of the world’s highest rail bridge over the Chenab River, which towers higher than the Eiffel Tower. “The people of Jammu placed their trust in the BJP, and we delivered by building the world’s highest rail bridge,” he said.

Vande Bharat Express,Railway Development in Jammu: PM Modi highlighted the infrastructural progress made under his government, including the launch of the Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Katra and the upgrades made to the railway stations in Katra and Reasi. “These developments are not just about transport; they are about connectivity, which brings economic growth and job creation,” he explained.

Concluding Appeal: In his closing remarks, PM Modi urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their democratic right and vote for the BJP in large numbers. He reiterated that the BJP’s focus is on the development, security, and empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, with an unwavering commitment to peace and progress.

Kashmir Horizon View: By aligning his message with the aspirations of the people, PM Modi once again positioned the BJP as a party focused on delivering results while preserving the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Jammu and Kashmir. In his two election rallies in Srinagar and Katra, he accused the Congress, NC, and PDP of ruining Jammu and Kashmir’s youth by inciting violence for political gain. He highlighted that under BJP rule, peace and normalcy have returned, with schools, businesses, and infrastructure improving. Modi ruled out any reinstatement of Article 370 and criticized Congress for aligning with Pakistan on the issue. He emphasized BJP’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism, and reiterated the party’s commitment to restoring statehood and empowering the region’s youth through development and employment opportunities. The way forward for Jammu and Kashmir requires a balanced approach focused on peace, development, and empowerment. Sustaining the current peace and stability is essential to prevent any return to unrest, ensuring that security is maintained while fostering political engagement. Economic development will play a crucial role, particularly through infrastructure projects that generate employment opportunities for the region’s youth. By promoting sectors like tourism and agriculture, the local economy can experience a much-needed boost, bringing prosperity to the region. At the same time, investment in education and skill development is vital to empowering the next generation. Expanding educational institutions and skill centers will equip young people with the tools they need to succeed in modern industries, thereby reducing unemployment. Strengthening democratic institutions, such as local bodies and Panchayats, will encourage broader political participation, allowing people to take ownership of their region’s development.
