Srinagar: In a strategic move, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Para joined Bashir Mir, the party’s candidate for the Ganderbal constituency, during a vibrant campaign event on Friday at Manigam. The gathering attracted a substantial crowd, signaling strong grassroots support for the PDP ahead of the upcoming elections.
During a press interaction, Para addressed the intricate political dynamics in Kashmir, stating, “This is a time in Kashmir where no one really knows who stands with whom,” suggesting the fluidity of alliances in the region. He emphasized the party’s resolve to advocate for the rights of the people, particularly calling for the release of detained youth and religious leaders. Para also highlighted the uncertainty surrounding other candidates, remarking that clarity in the political arena would only come if the Jamaat contests on its own. Bashir Mir led a lively roadshow across various areas in Ganderbal, engaging with community members and reaffirming his commitment to their welfare. He expressed confidence in the growing momentum of his campaign as election day draws near.
