Jammu : In a bold move to curb illegal mining, Jammu Police has seized four vehicles loaded with sand in the South Zone of District Jammu. The operation, carried out by Police Post Belicharana under Police Sub Inspector Rajesh Chaudhary and Police Post Chatha under Police Sub Inspector Karnail Singh, aimed to tighten the noose against violators exploiting public resources.
As per official reports, the seized vehicles include: Three vehicles, loaded with sand, detained by Police Post Belicharana and One truck/dumper seized by PP Chatha.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said “The said vehicles were seized under illegal mining laws in the jurisdiction of PS Satwari of South Zone. Following the seizure, the District Mining Officer was informed for necessary legal actions”. Stating that this crackdown is part of Jammu Police’s commitment to protect public property and eradicate the menace of illegal mining in the area, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said it has been actively working to prevent such activities, adding therein that previous successes in seizing vehicles involved in illegal mining show the commitment of police against illegal mining operations.
