Srinagar, Sept 19: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday commended the deceased IAS officer Mohammad Shafi Pandit, saying even after his retirement, Pandit used to serve the society.
During his speech in Srinagar’s Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Modi said, “Friends, I have information that Kashmir’s hero, who was among the first IAS officers from the region, Mohammad Shafi Pandit passed away last night.”
Modi said, Shafi worked for the society even after he retired from his service.
“In this moment of grief, our prayers are with the bereaved family,” said the Prime Minister.
