Devsar (Kulgam):Devsar assembly constituency today recorded 57 per cent polling, long queues were seen outside the Polling Stations since morning.

An official said that 1.12 lakh voters were registered for the Devsar assembly constituency, a total poll percentage in the seat, has been recorded at 57.4 percent. In 2014 assembly elections Devsar assembly constituency recorded 64%.

Voters like Zulfkar Razatul, voiced their confidence in Indian democracy and their hope for development and resolution of unemployment among the educated youth.

“We cast a vote. There is democracy in India,” said Zulfkar, he asserted that he voted for development. “Educated youth are unemployed. We have full faith in Indian democracy. We are sure people’s issues will be solved for a better tomorrow,” he said.

Devsar AC is one of the Assembly constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir. In the 2014 Assembly Elections, Mohammad Amin Bhat from INC won the seat with a margin of 1,511 votes. Mohammad Amin Bhat was polled 20,162 votes with a vote share of 35.08 % and defeated Mohammad Sartaj Madni from JKPDP who got 18,651 votes (32.45 %). In the 2008 Assembly Elections, Mohammad Sartaj Madni from JKPDP won the seat and was polled 14,175 votes with a vote share of 26.79%. JKN Assembly Elections 2024 Results -JKN candidate Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah got 10,174 votes (19.23 %) and was the runner-up.Mohammad Sartaj Madni defeated Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah by a margin of 4,001 votes.
