“Revisit policy of compulsory ‘weekly off’ for trade, businesses”

Jammu : The J&K BJP Spokesman and Incharge of party’s media Center, Arun Kumar Gupta, on Wednesday said that the interference of government in trade and business industry inadvertently adversely affects trade and business and BJP government will make it sure that there is minimum interference but maximum assistance by the government in this industry.
“We believe that business and trade of Jammu has suffered a lot due to excessive interference by the government,” Arun Gupta said, while adding, “BJP believes that too much interference of the government badly affects business and trade and our government will make sure that there is minimum inference of the government. Simultaneously the government will ensure all the necessary steps to promote the trade and commerce in the region”.
Arun Kumar Gupta strongly suggested that the Department of Labor and Employment in Jammu is pressurizing business and commercial institutions to remain closed for one day a week. However, issuing such orders will negatively impact the economy of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the department must take measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of employees by implementing all regulations without requiring weekly closures for commercial and industrial institutions. Also, the alternative steps should be taken to protect the rights and interests of the employees and allow the business houses to run their operations smoothly.
This was stated by Arun Gupta, while addressing a press conference at BJP media center, here today. BJP Spokespersons, Lieutenant General Rakesh Sharma (Retd) and Rajni Sethi, and party’s state media incharge, Dr Pardeep Mahotra were also present in the press conference.
Too much interference does not allow the trade and business to flourish, Gupta said, adding, “BJP government will put this to an end and will make sure that there is no unnecessary interference but only the remedial measures to increase the economic activities in the region”.
He said, “Traders know how to run the business and it should be left to them”. Gupta said that there are 7000 MSME units in J&K. “BJP government will device an effective policy for rejuvenation of these MSME units to take them forward,” Arun Gupta said.
“BJP government will also develop women-oriented business hubs and also develop women oriented industrial areas for woman empowerment,” he said, while adding, “Special IT hubs and IT zones will also be developed by the BJP government for flourishing of trade and business”.
He also said that the various issues related to lease deeds of the traders and small businessmen will be addressed and stalled lease deeds of small traders like those of mandis and other markets will also be extended by the BJP government. He also said that the BJP government will also make sure that the highly trained Agniveers get top posts in industries.
