Kathua : In response to recent media reports and concerns raised by farmers regarding alleged encroachment on the Paddy Procurement Mandi in Bajwal, the District Administration of Kathua has issued a clarification.
A team from the Agriculture Department, led by Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjeev Rai Gupta and Tehsildar Kathua Vikram Kumar visited the site under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas.
During the visit, the farmers were reassured that the Mandi would not be relocated and instead the administration is soon going to initiate improvement and upgrading of the facility. The up-gradation plan would include enhanced facilities and strengthening of the existing structures to better serve the farming community.
The District Administration has emphasized its commitment to supporting the farmers and ensuring their welfare. The public, especially the farmers, were urged to rest assured that no proposal exists to shift the Paddy Procurement Mandi Bajwal, and all efforts are focused on enhancing the infrastructure and services at the current location.
Kathua admin reaffirms its dedication to providing continued support and improved facilities for the farming community.
