General, Police Observer for G’bal review Poll Preparedness in Distt

Ganderbal : The General Observer for District Ganderbal, R. Lakshmanan along with the Police Observer, BipinShankarrao jointly chaired a meeting on Monday at the DakBanglowGanderbal to review the poll preparedness across the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy DEO Ganderbal, AbidIqbal Malik provided a detailed overview of the ongoing electoral preparations. He said that the district administration has assured minimum facilities at all 267 polling stations. Additionally, model polling stations including Pink, Blue, Red, and Green has been established to enhance the voting experience.
Besides Postal and home voting arrangements have been fully prepared, and election staff have received comprehensive training to ensure efficiency during the polls.
They also took a detailed review of implementation of Model Code of Conduct and Status of Expenditure Monitoring in the district.
The ADDC/Nodal Officer MCC provided a briefing regarding the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) within the district.
He highlighted the steps taken to monitor compliance, address violations, and raise public awareness about the MCC.
Giving details regarding Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, Nodal Officer SVEEP informed that multipronged activities are going on daily basis under SVEEP, besides several booth-level camps and interactive sessions have been conducted aimed at engaging marginalized groups.
ASP Ganderbal also briefed the observers regarding the security scenario of the district and measures taken up to ensure smooth and peaceful elections in the District.
The General Observers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made so far and stressed the importance of ensuring a seamless electoral process. They highlighted the need for close coordination between all stakeholders and emphasised the need to maintain strict adherence to ECI guidelines.
They called for enhanced focus on resolution of election related issues and also highlighted the importance of monitoring and reporting mechanisms to ensure transparency and fairness in elections.
The observers expressed satisfaction with the progress and emphasized the importance of maintaining strict oversight throughout the election period.
While reviewing the working of MCMC, the Observers were apprised that MCMC is working round the clock to ensure close monitoring of Print, Electronic and social media in order to prevent the dissemination of misleading or inappropriate information and to ensure monitoring of paid news besides ensuring media coverage of election related activities within the guidelines of ECI.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, RO Ganderbal Constituency, RO Kangan Constituency, DyDEO, DTO, Dy CEO, and other concerned.
