Cong Releases Election Manifesto, Promises Inclusive Governance, Statehood Restoration

Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has released its election manifesto, outlining a comprehensive plan for inclusive governance and the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The party has laid out a series of key promises aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of the people.
One of the manifesto’s central promises is the restoration of statehood, signaling the party’s commitment to reversing the region’s current Union Territory status.
“Restoring statehood is crucial for empowering the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Party leader said in a press briefing.
“It is about giving back the region its rightful status and ensuring that governance is more responsive and inclusive.”
The party also vowed to reinstate the historic Durbar Move, the biannual practice of shifting the government between Srinagar and Jammu.
This move, according to the manifesto, is intended to ensure balanced governance and equal development opportunities for both regions. “The Durbar Move has always been a bridge between Jammu and Srinagar, fostering unity and inclusive growth. We will pass a resolution to reinstate this tradition,” the manifesto states.
In addition to political and administrative changes, the JKPCC has pledged to prioritize residents of Jammu and Kashmir for jobs and land allocation, aiming to address local economic concerns and secure the interests of the region’s people. “We will ensure that the residents of J&K are given first preference for jobs and land allocation, supporting local employment and economic stability,” the spokesperson added.
Further highlighting its commitment to transparency and accountability, the party has promised to establish a Lokayukta within 100 days of coming to power. “Our commitment to eradicating corruption is firm. Setting up a Lokayukta within 100 days will be our top priority to ensure a corruption-free administration,” the manifesto asserts.
