Jammu: Hours after exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists in Mendhar belt of Poonch district on Sunday morning, another gunfight erupted in the Bani area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Based on specific intelligence about presence of terrorists, a search operation was launched in Bani and a few rounds were fired from both the sides while the area is cordoned off, police said
Earlier in the morning, a gunfight erupted between the security forces and terrorists in the Mendhar belt of Poonch district.
Police said that incident followed a search operation in the forest area of Kalaban near Pathanatir at Katera village in Mendhar.
On September 13, contact was established between security forces and terrorists in Surankote area of Poonch.
On the same day, two soldiers were killed and as many were injured in a gunfight in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district.
