Srinagar : Police in Anantnag on Friday said that it has solved a theft case by arresting accused lady involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen items from her possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that following a complaint filed by Shahzda Akhter W/o late Ghulam Nabi Parray R/o Shipora Larkipora, regarding theft of golden ornaments a case under FIR No. 181/2024 was registered and investigation was promptly launched.
Police in its statement further said that during the investigation, Rehana W/o Majid Dar, R/o Minward, was brought in for questioning and later during questioning, the complainant admitted the commission of crime and on her revelation, the stolen items, including, Gold Bangle, 4 Gold Rings, 1 Jhumka, 1 Chain with a Pendulum worth approximately ₹3 lakhs, were recovered from her residence.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said “ during investigation additional golden ornaments were recovered from the accused’s house, including 2 Gold Bangles, 1 Jhumka, 1 Gold Chain, 2 Pendulums, 1 Pair of Earrings, 1 Pair of Tops, 1 Gold Ring, valued approximately ₹4.5 lakhs, bringing the total recoveries to ₹7.5 lakhs”, adding therein that the accused was arrested and the investigation is going on.
