Illicit liquor recovers in Ang, 4 arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested four individuals and seized a significant quantity of illicit liquor in various operations.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that during routine Naka checking at Tulkhan Crossing, a Police party from Police Post Sangam apprehended Javeed Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohammad Dar R/o Tulkhan Bijbehara, who was found transporting several bottles of illicit liquor and was arrested and shifted to concerned police station.
Police in its statement further said that in another operation at SarnalChowk, a Police party from Police Post Sherbagh intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03A-3607 and recovered illicit liquor from the possession of motorcyclist identified as Mohd Maqsood Mansoori S/o Mohd Ishaq R/o Bana Ara Amarpur, District Banka, Bihar. Stating that the accused was arrested and shifted to police station, Police in its statement further said that during a routine vehicle checking near GMC Dialgam, a passenger auto bearing registration number JK03G-0349 traveling from Larkipora to Anantnag was stopped following which search of the auto led to the recovery of multiple sealed bottles of illicit liquor, adding therein that two individuals onboard, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Tramboo and Nazir Ahmad Rather, were arrested.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Stations Bijbehara and Anantnag and further investigations are underway.
