Shopian : General Observer (GO) for 37- Shopian Assembly Constituency (AC), Roohi Khan on Friday took a comprehensive assessment of election related plans at Shopian for the seamless and hassle free execution of election assignments.
At the outset, the Observer interacted with Nodal Officers, Logistics and reviewed arrangements at the Receipt & Dispatch centre established for the Shopian AC at Mini Secretariat, reviewed its layout and asked for installing proper and adequate tentage at the centre, along with signages for facilitation of polling parties.
The Observer reviewed the welfare measures for the polling staff, to be arranged at the dispatch, receipt & polling stations and asked for keeping proper and hygienic meals, potable water and other facilities available besides the provision of honorarium to the staff.
The observer also asked for making foolproof arrangements of vehicle parking of polling staff by designating a specific parking place for them and timely and smooth dispatch of poll material and EVMs at the centre. The route wise arrival of poll parties and the smooth pairing of polling staff with security personnel was emphasized on the occasion.
The Observer was intimated that 8 counters,manned by sufficient and trained staff, shall be set up for the dispatch and receipt of polling material/ EVMs and that the district election authority is ready to ensure the fruition of assignment efficiently.
Lastly, the Observer also took stock of counting arrangements and gave directions for submitting the Layout Plan for Counting and suggested some vital measures to be considered for better execution on the counting day.
The District Election Officer, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar was also present on the occasion along with Returning Officer, Shopian, Shakoor Ahmad Dar.
