Srinagar, Sep 13: Hitting out at National Conference for their past, the Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Friday questioned Abdullahs that who offered the state of J&K to New Delhi without consulting people of the region.

Terming NC and PDP real proxies of New Delhi, Bukhari said both political parties brazenly trampled upon the mandate of people of Jammu & Kashmir in the past. He said both parties declare everyone proxies of New Delhi whoever comes in their way.

Talking to reporters during his door-to-door campaign in Chanapora constituency in Srinagar, Bukhari hits out at National Conference for their role in history of J&K. He accused Abdullahs for offering J&K to New Delhi without consulting people of the territory then.

“I want to ask you (NC and PDP) are the real proxies of New Delhi. You extended your hand to New Delhi since 1947. You gave J&K to New Delhi without holding consultations to local population. NC received incentives since then in shape of chair, while PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti was also given chief minister’s post later on. So how can you blame others they are proxies of New Delhi,” Bukhari told reporters.

Responding to a query, Bukhari said whatever Omar Abdullah has uttered against Er Rashid I am not ready to accept that. “NC and PDP are declaring everyone proxies of New Delhi whosoever comes in their way,” he said.

On being asked about AIP chief’s advocacy for dialogue, he said the Er Rashid has said right. “If Government of India can talk to people of northeast states, then what stops them to hold dialogue with the people of Jammu & Kashmir? I’m hopeful that upcoming elected government of J&K on behalf of its people will initiate talks with New Delhi over lingering issues. There is a need to talk on POTA, PSA, release of youth, easing out of verification process, etc. This is the main agenda of our party. We want to declare general amnesty to youth lodged in jails,” Bukhari said.

When asked whether the release of north Kashmir’s MP will influence voters of Apni Party in the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K, Bukhari replied everyone is coming with their own manifesto and everyone has a right to do so. “Tomorrow when results will be out everything will be clear. Everyone has a right to reach out to people. Things will be cleared at the time of result,” he added.
