Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has successfully busted an illegal trade of counterfeit gold biscuits and arrested three accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a tip-off, Police Station Lalpora launched a swift operation, leading to the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the illicit trade, adding therein that the said accused have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khan S/o Fazal Rehman Khan, Rayaz Ahmad War S/o Mohd Taseen War and Noor Mohd Lohar S/o Rehmatullah Lohar, all residents of Dever Lolab, Kupwara.
Stating that during questioning, the suspected individuals confessed their involvement in the counterfeit gold trade, Police in its statement further said that 153 counterfeit gold biscuits were recovered from the possession of the said accused besides which a case under FIR No. 61/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Lalpora.
