Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has seized a huge quantity of crude wine and arrested two accused involved in its production and distribution.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party of Police Station Budgam while conducting naka checking at village Nasrullahpora apprehended two suspects identified as Daneshwar Prasad S/o Ramdhar Prasad R/o Sirli District Sakti Chhattisgarh & Lakshman Predas Sahu S/o Baba Ram R/o Aril district Sakti Chhattisgarh, adding therein that the duo were carrying 1 barrel of crude wine.
Stating that during questioning and subsequent search, 12 more barrels of crude wine approximately 195 Litres were recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 372/2024 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Budgam and further investigation is underway.
