2nd Randomisation of EVMs and Polling Staff successfully conducted in Srinagar Distt

Process held under supervision of DEO in presence of General Observers and Contesting Candidates of all 08 ACs of Distt

Srinagar: In view of General Elections for Legislative Assembly in Srinagar, the 2nd Randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Polling Staff for all the (08) Eight Assembly Segments of Srinagar District was conducted in accordance with the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complrx, here.
The 2nd Randomization process was held under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat in presence of the General Observers for Srinagar District.
The representatives of Political parties, Contesting Candidates of all 08 Assembly Constituencies, Returning Officers, Deputy DEO, Nodal Officer EVMs, Nodal Officer ETPBS and other Officers of District Election Authority Srinagar.
The 2nd and final Randomisation of Ballot Units, Control Units and VVPATs for Eight (08) Assembly Segments of Srinagar District were carried out through a dedicated software-EVM Management System. The reserve EVMs were also allotted to polling stations for use.
Besides, 2nd randomisation of Polling Staff was also conducted through the software to create Polling parties and assign them Polling Stations.
Pertinently, District Srinagar has a network of 932 Polling Stations established at 407 locations.
The Assembly Constituency wise randomized list of EVMs were attested by the Candidates and representatives of Political parties and copies of the list of respective constituencies were shared with them.
Earlier, the candidates and representatives were briefed about the EVMs ensuring their confidence in the uprightness of the process and encouraging that all requisite measures have been enacted to uphold the sanctity of the polls in free, fair and transparent manner as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India.
All the representatives of Contesting Candidates/Political parties expressed their satisfaction over the entire randomisation process.
