Baramulla: The District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa conducted a visit to Sopore Tuesday to inspect the facilities at the office of the Returning Officer (RO) for the 07-Sopore Assembly Constituency.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, S.A. Raina, who is also serving as the Returning Officer, Sherpa reviewed the Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) to ensure preparedness for the elections.
During the inspection, the DEO emphasized the establishment of key facilities to support the electoral process. A dedicated help desk has been set up to assist both candidates and voters with any inquiries or issues they may encounter. Additionally, an IT cell has been established to manage technological needs and ensure smooth communication and data handling throughout the election period.
A 24×7 election control room is also in place at the RO office. This control room will operate around the clock to monitor election activities, address any concerns promptly, and coordinate between various election-related departments. The control room is designed to provide real-time support and ensure that any issues are resolved quickly to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process.
Sherpa highlighted that these measures are crucial for facilitating a smooth and transparent election. By providing comprehensive support through these facilities, the administration aims to enhance the overall electoral experience for candidates and voters alike, ensuring a fair and organized process.
