Ganderbal : The annual Gangabal Yatra was officially flagged off from the Naranag base camp in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday morning.
The ceremony was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal and other officials. The yatra, which will ascend to Gangbal at an altitude of 14,500 feet, is expected to reach its destination by the evening. A special puja was performed at the base camp to mark the beginning of the pilgrimage. Kashmiri Pandits from various parts of the country gathered at Naranag to participate in the sacred journey. The yatra is organized by the Harmukh Ganga Gangbal Trust, with logistical support and arrangements provided by the district administration and other concerned departments.
