Bandipora: The Bandipora District Administration cricket team secured a victory in a friendly cricket match held under the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The match, played at S. k stadium Bandipora , featured a thrilling contest between the District Administration team and the Bandipora Legends.
The event was inaugurated by the District Election Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, who emphasized that the match aimed to enhance voter awareness and engage the community in the electoral process.
In his address, the District Election Officer encouraged the public to participate enthusiastically in the electoral process, underscoring the importance of active civic engagement.
The Administration team, led by the Deputy District Election Officer (DyDEO), Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat comprised officers including the Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt, Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kishore Kumar, DSWO Sahir Majeed, DIO Aadil Manzoor Wani, DyCEO Dr. G. M Pujoo, SVEEP Coordinator Arsallan Habib, and Coordinator Man Power and trainings Mir Irfan Maqbool.
Padmashree Faisal Ali Dar, Brand Ambassador SVEEP activities, a key participant in the District Administration Bandipora team, took the opportunity to emphasise the critical role of youth in the electoral process. He underscored the importance of young voters in shaping the future of democracy and encouraged their active involvement in the electoral system.
Later, a football match was also held under SVEEP at the same venue featuring first-time voters providing a platform for new voters to engage with the electoral process in a dynamic and interactive way. The participation of first-time voters highlighted the importance of involving youth and new voters in civic activities and electoral education.
The event successfully combined recreational activities with electoral education providing an engaging platform for new voters to participate in electoral activities and encouraged them to actively spread the message of voter engagement and civic responsibility.
