New Delhi: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in the national capital on Monday. The two leaders exchanged a warm hug and handshake before engaging in discussions.
Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in New Delhi on September 8 for his first official visit to India. He was welcomed by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, who greeted him with a ceremonial reception upon arrival.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the significance of the visit, stating on X, “A new milestone in a historic relationship. His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Delhi on his first official visit to India. Warmly received by @CimGOI @piyushgoyal and accorded a ceremonial welcome.”
During his visit, Sheikh Khaled is scheduled to meet with President Droupadi Murmu and visit Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. On September 10, he will travel to Mumbai to participate in a Business Forum involving leaders from both countries.
The MEA emphasized that India and the UAE share a deep historical bond and that the visit would further strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, enhancing collaboration in various sectors such as trade, investment, energy, technology, and culture.
Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to the UAE in February included discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, resulting in eight new agreements, including a significant MoU for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC). This visit underscores the ongoing commitment to deepening economic and commercial cooperation and exploring new partnership opportunities.
