Police takes cognizance against an individual for assaulting his parents in Srinagar

Srinagar : Police on Saturday takes cognizance against an individual for assaulting his parents and not allowing them to enter their own home for the past one year in Srinagar.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that while acting upon a written complaint of accused person’s mother namely Mst Taja Banoo W/o Gh Ahmad Wani, a criminal case FIR No. 77/2024 under section 74, 126(2), 351(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Nowgam and investigation initiated.
Besides, the accused individual identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani s/o Gh Ahmad Wani R/o S. A. Colony, Nowgam has been brought to the police station for questioning and later initiated further investigation into the matter.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police said that a video pertaining to this particular incident has been circulating on social media platforms.
