Leasing out mines to outsiders unacceptable: Hakeem

Khansahib( Budgam): Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front PDF and candidate from Khansahib assembly constituency has said that leasing out mining contract to outside state contractors was unacceptable as it has snatched the livelihood of thousands of local people associated with mining trade. He has a motion will be tabled in the upcoming legislative assembly to seek withdrawal of the new mining policy so that rights of the local people on mining resources could be saved.
Addressing a public rally at Shamsabad in khansahib constituency on Saturday Hakeem Yaseen while demanding roll back of the present mining policy said leasing out mining contracts to outsiders was a great injustice with the local people as it has snatched livelihood of thousands of local people including mining contractors . labourers and transporters . He said people of Jammu and Kashmir were the real owners of their natural resources and have every right to utilise their own resources’ by themselves . He said every machination to usurp the rights of local people on land and natural resources would be forcefully opposed in the upcoming legislative assembly. He said a constitutional motion will be moved in the upcoming legislative assembly to seek return of all power projects from NHPC so that electricity generated in these power projects is utilised locally to overcome prevailing power shortage in jammu and kashmir.
PDF Chairman has asked the people to reject those political parties who have bartered with the interests of Jammu and Kashmir and its people for power lust during last about 70 years. He said these power hungry political parties only thrive on politics of lie and deceit and needed to teach a lesson by using your vote wisely against their anti people policies. He said these power hungry political parties have conceived their defeat in anticipation which was evident from their body language .
