Huge Surge In Political Dissidence In J&K

“Dissidence in political parties not only deepens the crisis of factional politics within the political parties but also deepens the crisis of political stability everywhere within and outside the country.”

The maiden assembly elections post-2019 Article 370 Abrogation scenario has unfortunately started with dissidence in both national level and regional political parties across Jammu & Kashmir. Dissidence in pre-election scenario would obviously further intensify within the major political parties in the post-election scenario much before the formation of new Government and such a bad trend would for all practical purposes only further the causes of political instability in Jammu & Kashmir. Never forget that dissidence in political parties not only deepens the crisis of factional politics within the political parties but also deepens the crisis of political stability everywhere within and outside the country like India the mother of parliamentary democracy in the world. Experiences of decades in several states of the country have shown that when public welfare is the moto of public representatives, the crisis of dissidence does not take roots within or outside the political parties and consequently political instability does not spoil the bigger agenda of public welfare in states or at the centre. However experiences have also shown that political opportunism replacing the basic spirits of public welfare always deepens the crisis of dissidence within and outside the political parties both within and outside the country like India the biggest democracy of the world. The growing dissidence in both the national and regional level political parties in Jammu & Kashmir if not controlled and contained much before the commencement of the very first phase of polling would surely spoil the poll prospects of all the major national level and regional political parties in both Kashmir Valley and as well as Jammu division.

“Political wisdom demands that top brass of major political parties take immediate measures to control and contain the deepening dissidence within their parties much before it spoils the prospects of political stability for many more years in Jammu & Kashmir. For major political parties the revival of a stringent ant-defection law which had bulldozed the dissidence in political parties in pre-2019 Article 370 Abrogation scenario for decades together could be the source of political stability in the post poll scenario in Jammu & Kashmir.”

As dissidence is deepening with equal intensity in all political parties, the dissidents of almost all political parties in huge numbers are joining the electoral fray with such a huge intensity that the no of poll contestants in each one of the almost 90% of the 90 assembly constituencies is going over and above the magic figure of 15. With people expecting the return of popular rule after a long gap of more than five years the surge in dissidence would spoil the prospects of political stability in the post election scenario in Jammu & Kashmir. Political wisdom demands that top brass of major political parties take immediate measures to control and contain the deepening dissidence within their parties much before it spoils the prospects of political stability for many more years in Jammu & Kashmir. For major political parties the revival of a stringent ant-defection law which had bulldozed the dissidence in political parties in pre-2019 Article 370 Abrogation scenario for decades together could be the source of political stability in the post poll scenario in Jammu & Kashmir.
