Jammu : Emphasizing the party’s manifesto reflects the unwavering commitment of the Modi government, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana on Saturday highlighted in Jammu how the ongoing journey of development and empowerment in the region, following decades of misrule under the NC-Congress, is becoming increasingly evident on the ground with each passing day. Khatana made these remarks while speaking about the party’s newly unveiled manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra 2024’, which was released by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his two-day visit to Jammu.
In his statement, Khatana praised the Modi government for its unwavering focus on bringing Jammu and Kashmir onto a path of progress and ensuring that each citizen, especially those who had long suffered under the National Conference (NC) and Congress governments, can now witness tangible changes on the ground. “The journey of development and empowerment is becoming more visible with each passing day,” Khatana stated, adding that BJP’s manifestos reflect the enduring promise of the Modi government to uplift the region. The BJP leader pointed out that prior to 2014, Jammu and Kashmir was riddled with corruption, militancy, and separatism, while the Jammu region faced constant discrimination. These were issues that dominated the discourse of regional leaders, but lacked concrete solutions. The shift in leadership, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election in 2014, marked the beginning of a new chapter for the entire nation, including Jammu and Kashmir. “After taking over the reins of the country in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been scripting a new chapter of development and empowerment for India and its citizens,” Khatana said. “He never looked back, and his visionary leadership is aimed at making India a world leader. The significant changes we see in Jammu and Kashmir today are a direct result of Modi ji’s focus on inclusive development and security.”
According to Khatana, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have now fully grasped Modi’s vision for the region. The BJP leader expressed confidence that with the unwavering support of every citizen in the region, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir. This statement comes at a crucial time, as the region gears up for the assembly polls. Khatana reminded the public that the counting of votes, after the three-phase elections, will take place on October 8th. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have seen the difference, and with their blessings, BJP is poised to win,” he said. Khatana also highlighted the recent visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Jammu and Kashmir, during which Shah officially launched the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming assembly polls. Shah, during his visit, unveiled the ‘Sankalp Patra 2024’, a manifesto that reflects the BJP’s clear commitment to the overall development of the region.
“The Sankalp Patra addresses the core issues facing Jammu and Kashmir, with a focus on governance that is truly for the people, by the people, and of the people,” Khatana stated. He added that the manifesto was designed to be inclusive, taking into consideration the needs and interests of all sections of society. “Whether it is our mothers, students, or senior citizens, everyone has been taken on board. The Sankalp Patra is not just a political document; it is a commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he asserted.
Khatana believes that the BJP’s manifesto addresses key concerns around governance, which has been a central issue in the region. The BJP’s vision, as outlined in the manifesto, is to continue providing good governance that not only improves infrastructure and development but also empowers the people at every level. “Prime Minister Modi ji has a clear vision for Jammu and Kashmir, and with the support of Home Minister Amit Shah, this vision is being turned into a reality. The BJP is committed to making Jammu and Kashmir a beacon of peace, development, and prosperity,” Khatana emphasized.
