DEO also inspects strong room, election control room & facilitation centre at Handwara
Kupwara: The District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudhan on Friday visited Handwara sub division and conducted a comprehensive inspection of election Strong room, Election Control Room and Facilitation Centre of RO office at Handwara.
The inspection was aimed to evaluate the preparedness for upcoming assembly election-2024.
The DEO meticulously inspected the Strong Room at ITI Handwara, Control Room and Facilitation centre, besides she also reviewed the facilities and arrangements for smooth conduct of elections.
On the occasion, DEO directed the officers of concerned departments to put in place all efforts for smooth conduct of assembly elections.
She was accompanied by ADC (RO ), AC-05 Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather; ARO, AC-05-Handwara, Executive Engineer R&B Division Handwara.

DEO notifies details of Expenditure Observer for 3 ACs of B’pora
Bandipora: The District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Friday notified the contact of Expenditure Observer for Bandipora district.
DEO informed that Sudeep Dabas, the Expenditure Observer for three assembly constituencies of Bandipora viz. 14-Sonawari, 15- Bandipora and 16-Gurez, is stationed in the district from September 5th.
He said, the observer shall stay at PFH Building KGHEP, NHPC Bandipora and can be contacted on 8899234919 and 9103379985.

ADDC Kupwara reviews preparations of MCMC/ Media Centre
Kupwara: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat who is also Nodal Officer for Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) on Friday convened a meeting with the officials of MCMC and Media Center Kupwara to review the preparations ahead of J&K Legislative Assembly Election 2024.
On the occasion, the ADDC impressed upon the concerned officials to work with added dedication and close coordination to ensure smooth functioning of the MCMC and Media Centre in the district during the conduct of the Assembly Election.
He directed them to ensure close monitoring of various media platforms including Television Channels, Print and Social Media to check any violation with regard to the broadcast/posting of content against the MCMC guidelines.
He emphasized upon the officials to ensure that all media-related activities are in compliance with election regulations and asked them for monitoring paid news, advertisements to ensure the ethical conduct of media during the election period.
The MCMC plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of election reporting and ensuring that media coverage is fair and unbiased.

Mega Mashal rally organised under SVEEP at Reasi
Reasi: A Mega SVEEP Mashal rally was held on Friday here, in the DC Office Complex.
The highlight of the program was attendance of first time voters, students, staff and women led by the District Election Officer (DEO) VisheshMahajan, who pledged to exercise their right and vote on 25th September.
Displaying the visual message, thousands of people carrying mashal (flame- Torch) with the message “I am a Voter, Vote on 25th September” gathered to be part of the event. The DEO lit the main mashal and emphasised that it represents ‘The Light of Democracy which stands strong and bright by the efforts of each citizen and symbolises a sense of pride.’
From there all the people enthusiastically marched across the complex and pledged to exercise their vote holding sacred fire.
The main focus of the event was to underscore the crucial significance of informed and responsible voting among the citizens. The rally gave a visual representation to every voter of district Reasi to unite and vote on the polling day.
The DEO highlighted the importance of electoral literacy and urged the voters to actively participate in the election process.
Others present during the event were ADDC ReasiSukhdev Singh Samyal, ADC ReasiKulbushanKhajuria, ACR Anshumali Sharma, ACD Pradeep Kumar, DIO (Info) UjwalSambayal and other officials.

J&K Assembly Polls: Randomisation of polling staff held in Reasi
Reasi: In preparation for the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly, the first Randomization of Polling Staff to be deployed at 436 Polling Stations across three Assembly Constituencies of Reasi District was held on Friday, here in the DC Office Complex.
The Randomization process was held under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), VisheshMahajan and in presence of the concerned Officers.
The Randomization process was conducted through the dedicated Software as per the prescribed guidelines of Election Commission of India ensuring fairness and impartiality in the selection of Polling Staff.
A database of 2140 employees was randomized which includes around 25% staff reserved to meet any exigency.
ADDC Sukhdev Singh Samayal, Dy. DEO ReasiRakesh Kumar, RO-57 AnshumaliSharama, Nodal Officer IT/ ETPBS Asheesh and other concerned were present during the Randomisation process.

DEO Rajouri interacts with staff deployed for Pink, PwD polling stations
Rajouri: District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, on Friday interacted with the polling staff trained to operate Pink and PwD polling stations during a session held here in the Dak Bungalow.
At the outset, the District Nodal Officer for Elections, Dr. Naseem Ahmed, provided a detailed briefing to the DEO regarding the comprehensive training that had been imparted to the polling staff from all five Assembly Constituencies of Rajouri district. Dr. Ahmed emphasized that the training focused on ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for voters, especially in setting up Pink Polling Stations and making provisions for PWD voters.
In his address, DEO Abhishek Sharma highlighted the critical responsibilities of polling staff during the election process. He stressed the need for strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the ECI to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections. Sharma also emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism and handling election duties with the utmost care and impartiality.
An interactive session followed, where the DEO engaged with the polling staff by asking questions related to their roles and responsibilities. This exchange allowed the staff to clarify their doubts and ensured that they fully understood their duties, especially regarding the management of Pink Polling Stations and the facilitation of voting for PWD voters.
The session also saw the participation of Nodal Officer for Model Polling Stations, Aditi Sengaal, along with District-Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) and Assembly-Level Master Trainers (ALMTs), who were instrumental in providing training and support to the polling staff.

J&K Assembly Polls: 1st Phase election training held across six Assembly Constituencies of district Kathua
Kathua: The first round of election training session was successfully conducted Friday across all six Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of District Kathua, focusing on preparations for the upcoming Assembly Elections.
The training programs, organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Bani for AC 63-Bani, GDC Billawar for AC 64-Billawar, GDC Basohli for AC 65-Basohli, Town Hall Kathua for AC 66-Jasrota, GDCW Kathua for 67-Kathua(SC) and GDC Hiranagar for AC 68-Hiranagar, were facilitated by dedicated teams of District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) and Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs).
The sessions, coordinated by Nodal Officer for Election Training, Ranjit Thakur aimed to equip employees from various departments with the essential knowledge and operational skills necessary for effective election management.
To ensure comprehensive coverage, the training sessions were held both in the morning and evening, accommodating the schedules of all participants.
A significant portion of the training focused on the operation and management of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs). Trainees were guided through detailed PowerPoint presentations and hands-on practice sessions, enabling them to gain confidence in handling these machines under various scenarios.
The training included briefings on the election process and emphasized the importance of adhering to guidelines and protocols essential for maintaining the secrecy, integrity, and transparency of the election process. This focus is vital in upholding public trust in the democratic system.
The four day training sessions are being carried out by expert DLMTs and ALMTs to acquaint the polling staff with the complete polling process.
A total of 3893 employees attended the training sessions across the district in all six Assembly Constituencies.

J&K Assembly Polls: 2nd phase of training for polling staff begins in Bhaderwah
Bhaderwah: The second phase of Election Training Program for the polling staff for the upcoming J&K Assembly Elections 2024 commenced Friday at the Community Hall Bhaderwah.
The session brought together designated polling staff from across the region, focusing on preparing them for the crucial election process.
General Observer Malikarjun A. visited the training center, monitoring the activities closely. He provided guidance on various aspects of the election, including the handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), and emphasized adherence to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.
Satisfied with the progress of the first phase, he reviewed the second phase of training, which covers polling staff such as Presiding Officers (P.O.) and officials designated as P1, P2, and P3. The training aims to ensure smooth polling for Assembly Constituency 51, Bhaderwah, scheduled for the 18th of this month.
Master Trainer, Dr. Nazir Ahmed led the session with a detailed presentation on the election process, highlighting the importance of accurate voter identification and careful handling of EV The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to clarify any doubts. Coordinator Arif Rana, along with other Assistant Master Trainers (ALMTs), was also present at the event.
Following his interaction with the polling staff, General Observer Malikarjun A. conducted inspections of several polling stations, including Divisional Forest Complex, High School Nichlathra, Girls Higher Secondary School, and Government Degree College Bhaderwah, ensuring preparations are in place for the upcoming election.
