Srinagar : The Director General J&K Police R.R. Swain on Friday sanctioned financial assistance and scholarship to dependents/ wards of Police fallen heroes besides sanctioning meritorious scholarship in favour of wards of serving police personnel in three different order issued by Police headquarters.
In a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Srinagar Police said that under a PHQ order the DGP has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs. one lakh each to support the marriage ceremonies of daughters of each one of five fallen heroes of the police, adding therein that the assistance has been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.
Police in its statement further said that under order no. 2381, the DGP has sanctioned scholarship to 16 wards of slain police personnel pursuing education in various classes, including Rs 18,750 for a Ph.D. student, Rs 15,000 each for five students pursuing Master’s courses, Rs 12,500 each for six students pursuing Bachelor’s degrees and Rs 7,500 each for two such wards studying in lower classes, adding therein that the scholarship has been allocated from Central Police Education fund.
Meanwhile, the DGP under another order has sanctioned meritorious scholarship to 190 wards of serving police personnel who have achieved academic excellence in the class 10th Annual Examination during the 2023- 24 academic session. Under this order, Rupees 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 119 wards of serving police personnel who has secured 90% and above marks and Rupees 4000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 71 wards for securing above 80% marks in the class 10th examination. The meritorious scholarship has been sanctioned from Central Police Welfare fund
