Jaipur: Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, has been honoured with the “Teacher Excellence Award” by the Central University of Rajasthan on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, commemorated by the varsity on Thursday here.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. A Ravinder Nath, received the award from the Chief Guest, Haribhau Bagde, Governor, Rajasthan, in the presence of Prof. Anand Bhalerao Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan, noted academicians, faculty members, administrative staff, research scholars and students.
The award was conferred on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, recognizing Prof. A Ravinder Nath’s outstanding contributions in the field of education and his unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Prof. A Ravinder Nath’s dedication to fostering a culture of learning and innovation has significantly impacted both students and faculty at CUKashmir. Under his leadership, the university has seen remarkable growth in academic standards, research output, and community engagement. His leadership continues to inspire and drive the university toward greater heights of academic achievement.
Speaking on the occasion, CUKashmir Vice-Chancellor, expressed his gratitude to the Central University of Rajasthan for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the educational mission of CUKashmir. He dedicated the award to the entire university community, acknowledging their collective efforts in achieving this milestone.
With more than 35 years of Research and Teaching experience, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, has worked on different senior academic and administrative positions in various institutions of higher learning. Prof. A Ravinder Nath has worked as Professor of Biotechnology, at School of Life Sciences, Central University of Karnataka. Earlier, he served as the Dean, Faculty of Technology and the Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Osmania University, the Dean, Academic Affairs at MANUU and the Dean, Development and UGC Affairs, OU. He has also been Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, OU. He was selected for the prestigious UGC- BSR Faculty Fellowship recently.
Prof Ravinder Nath’s administrative responsibilities included International exposure on H.E. system with State and Central Universities Structure and Function. He served on various committees of state and national level institutions including prestigious AICTE and UGC etc. Prof. A Ravinder Nath participated in more than 20 International Conferences, visited over 23 countries and has delivered more than 200 Lectures in scores of Institutions across the nation. He has successfully executed five research projects funded by Government of India agencies (MHRD, AICTE & UGC) and three sponsored projects by the industry besides a Departmental project. He served as the Coordinator, World Bank – MHRD project TEQIP-I; Principal Investigator for CoE Program under TEQIP – II Phase; Chief Coordinator of the UGC – UPE scheme and Nodal Officer for RUSA-1.0 at the University level. He was the chief coordinator UPE Osmania University between 2012 and 2016 and Nodal Officer for RUSA (2015-2016).
He worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Pharmacy at the State University of New York, Stony Brook in USA. Prof. Nath was selected and Trained at University of Cambridge, UK under LEAP – Flagship Scheme of MHRD and completed over 25 trainings in Pedagogy and Subject Advancement Research and Management.
Prof. A Ravinder Nath, possesses a very strong research background and under his supervision, 18 Doctorate Degrees and 98 Masters Dissertations have been awarded. Besides completing five major research projects and four consultancy projects sponsored by MHRD, AICTE and UGC, he has over 100 publications with Google Scholar: I-10-lndex-38; H-lndex-20; Cumulative CITATIONS- 1600+ and CIF-55 +).
GDC for Women Ang Celebrates Teachers’ Day
Anantnag: To honour and pay glowing tributes to teachers, the Cultural Activities Committee, in collaboration with the Debate & Seminar Committee of Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag, organized a day-long event to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The program was marked by enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, the principal, Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik, congratulated the faculty for their invaluable contribution in shaping young minds. He acknowledged the significant role of teachers and emphasized how their responsibilities grow as they are elevated to the highest society.
On the occasion, students presented variety of performances, showcasing their gratitude for the guidance and mentorship they have received.
Speaking on behalf of the faculty, Secretary of the Staff Council, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Malik, commended the students for their efforts in conveying respect and admiration for their teachers. He also expressed his appreciation to Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik and the entire faculty for making the event memorable.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Syed Rahmat Shah, Head of the Zoology Department, while Fatima Jeelani skillfully conducted the proceedings of the programme.
