B’gam: National Conference (NC) Vice President, Omar Abdullah, who filed his nomination papers on the second seat in Budgam assembly segment on Thursday, said that the mis-governance of last six years, corruption allegations and other related things will be probed after forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters Omar said that there is a wave of National Conference across Kashmir and the coalition partners will emerge victorious on maximum number of seats.
He also stated that his filing of nominations from two seats is not an indication of weakness, but the party’s strength. “Had weakness been the case, the party leaders from Budgam would not have asked me to file nominations from the seat as well,” Omar said.
He also said that the party has clearly mentioned in its manifesto that the decisions taken by the Government of India for J&K will be opposed in the assembly through the resolution,” he said, adding that the issue of officers being imported from other parts of the country will also be looked into.
“If voted to power, we will probe the mis-governance during the last six years, corruption allegations and also the allegations of senior IAS officers,” he further added.
The former chief minister also said that the contracts should not be given to the people from outside Jammu and Kashmir as the resources and other things belong to the people here and they should be benefited out of it.
Moreover, Omar said there was much dissension within the party compared to what was expected over the mandate.
Replying to a query, Omar said that this election would certainly be different given the makeup of constituencies through the delimitation process and added that the impact would be less in Kashmir rather than Jammu.
Asked about Ram Madhav’s statement, Omar said, “Even though we know who the independents are that are being fielded in this election and who they will be benefiting, I think it is a bit rich of Ram Madhav saying that NC will get benefits from ex-militants. Show us where, I think he might have access to all the intelligence.”
“I was under the impression that as a result of what Delhi did that these people will be rendered neutral. Clearly Ram Madhav is suggesting that these people hold power over voters, which then would suggest that everything they have done on August 05, 2019 has been for nothing,” he said.
