Srinagar: District Election Officer (DEO) Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar on Thursday chaired a meeting of all Nodal Officers to review the preparation for upcoming General Assembly elections 2024 at Mini-Secretariat Shopian to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election process in the district.
Nodal Officers apprised the DEO about their election assignments and their preparations for efficient execution of Election Management Plan.
During the comprehensive review, all the arrangements of District Election Management Plan including logistics, material management, enforcement of MCC, SVEEP activities, transport plan, expenditure monitoring, Home voting, Receipt& dispatch of material, refreshment for polling staff etc were reviewed and directions given to increase the preparedness level.
DEO also directed for increasing the SVEEP activities across the villages targeting voters by involving local communities. He announced the rewards for best performing BLOs, ASHAs/ AWWs to increase turnouts.
DEO emphasized on the role of Nodal Officers to ensure smooth, free, fair and transparent conduct of General Assembly elections in the district Shopian.
The meeting was attended by Nodal officers and other concerned.
