Jammu: In a crackdown on bovine smuggling, Jammu Police have foiled a smuggling attempt in Sub-Division Nagrota, rescuing 12 bovines and seizing a vehicle.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that a police team from PS Nagrota intercepted the vehicle, bearing registration number JK02DH/8053, and arrested the driver, Mohd. Qasim, a resident of Tatarsoo Mathra Govindpura, Tehsil and District Ramban.
Stating that a case has been registered under relevant sections at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is underway, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to take strict actions against bovine smugglers, appreciating their efforts to curb this illegal activity.
