Jammu: In a surprise operation, Jammu Police has detained three vehicles engaged in illegal mining activities in the rural zone of District Jammu, police said.
In a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu Police said “the crackdown aims to curb the menace of illegal mining and protect public resources”. “Two vehicles were detained by Police Post Pounichak, which included a dumper (JK02BW 1582) loaded with crusher bajri without the required Form A, and a tractor trolley (Mahendra 575) bearing chassis number JKBE04571, loaded with boulders without permission.”
Stating that similarly, SHO Police Station Domana detained another tractor trolley at SOS Gole Gujral for illegal mining, loaded with soil and without Form-A, bearing engine number DC3009SAE09676 and chassis number MBNAV53ADKCE27245 , Police in its statement further said that the District Mining Officer has been informed for necessary legal actions..
