Shopian: District Election Officer, Shopian has revised the date of commissioning of EVM/ VVPATs on Tuesday. The commissioning was earlier to be held on 4th September 2024 at Strong Room, Mini Secretariat Shopian at 09:00 AM will now be held on 05 September, at the same time and venue.
The notice issued on Tuesday was in partial modification of the earlier issued notice. This change follows the directions received from the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, concerning the reporting of ECIL Engineers in Shopian District on 04-09-2024 instead of the earlier communicated date of 03-09-2024.
However, as desired by the Returning Officers of 36-Zainapora and 37-Shopian Assembly Constituencies, the pairing of EVMs/VVPATs will be conducted on 04-09-2024 at 10 AM onwards.
All political parties and contesting candidates have been asked to take part in the entire process.
