Srinagar: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, highlighted the significant strides Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) has made under the BJP’s governance.
The Union Minister attributed progress to the abrogation of Article 370 and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fostering grassroots democracy in the region. Dr. Singh further said that the historic transformation of J&K following the removal of Article 370 has been pivotal in introducing local self-government, which had been previously inaccessible despite the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments applied elsewhere in India. “True local self-government always eluded J&K due to the special status granted by Article 370 and 35A,” Dr. Singh said.
He praised the development model introduced by Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing that in the past five years, the people of J&K have benefited from evidence-based governance and strong leadership. “They have witnessed the positive impacts of PM Modi’s development model and are eager to continue reaping these benefits,” Dr. Singh stated. Looking ahead, Dr. Singh expressed optimism about J&K’s future, declaring, “In the years to come, J&K will emerge as a beacon of transformation for all of India.” He reiterated that the abrogation of Article 370 has set the stage for a new era where the voices of the people are heard and their rights are fully realized. Dr. Singh is confident that under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, J&K is poised to become a key driver in India’s growth narrative.
