Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a notorious bootlegger in Sopore and also recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of ASP Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Degree College Crossing, intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK04B-9591 driven by one Farooq Ahmad Ganie @Farooq Jandgur S/o Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/o Sangrampora Sopore A/P Bunpora Langate Handwara and during search recovered 32 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the said accused. Police in its statement furthermore said that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation into the case,
