Kabul: The US on August 31 ended its 20-year war in Afghanistan by withdrawing its last soldier from the Asian country, media reports said.

Following the orders of then US President George Bush, the US military targeted Al-Qaeda training camps based in Afghanistan.
The US troops eliminated Osama Bin Laden in 2011, prompting the then US President Barack Obama to order the withdrawal of troops.
The fourth US President Joe Biden involved in the conflict confirmed the final withdrawal date as 2021.
The Doha peace agreement paved the way for the departure of US troops from Afghanistan.
