Baramulla: To encourage maximum voter participation ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the District Administration Baramulla on Saturday organized a grand SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) program in the main town of Baramulla.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of new voters who came together and joined hands to form a human chain, symbolizing unity and commitment towards a vibrant democratic process.
The rally, which commenced from Govt Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, proceeded through the main town, with participants carrying banners and placards, highlighting the importance of voting and the power of individual voices in shaping the future of the region.
The human chain, formed by the energetic new voters, not only aimed to inspire the first-time voters but also to remind the broader community of the importance of exercising their voting rights.

SVEEP: Vibrant Voter Awareness Prog held at Pattan
Baramulla: In view of the Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, a comprehensive voter awareness program was held in Pattan on Saturday under SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) aimed to educate and engage the electorate, about the importance of voting and the electoral process.
The SVEEP programme was organized under the overall guidance of Returning Officer for 13-Pattan, Gulzar Ahmad Rather, who also participated in the event.

Ganderbal : A significant voter awareness program under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative was held on Saturday at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST Shuhama.

Srinagar : J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (JKERA) Saturday gave a warm send-off to Er. Ajay Kapahi, the outgoing Director of JKERA who attained superannuation from government service on Saturday.
At a simple but graceful function held at JKERA office, Rambagh here, the contribution of officer was recalled and best wishes were given to him for his post retirement life.
Chief Executive Officer, JKERA, Muhammad AijazAsad, complemented Er Ajay Kapahi, for attaining superannuation after serving the Government for than 38 years. He also complemented him for being part of JKERA team for 15 years, having played a major role in execution of various ADB and World Bank funded projects.

DEO Poonch inaugurates Girls and Boys boxing competition under SVEEP
Poonch: To boost electoral awareness and foster a culture of informed voting among the youth and the general public, District Election Officer Poonch, VikasKundal inaugurated Girls and Boys Boxing Competition in the Sports Stadium here on Saturday.
The event was organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program aiming to integrate sports and voter education with the focus to inspire these boxers to be champions both inside the ring and as responsible citizens.
The competition brought together young girls and boys boxers within Poonch district offering them a platform to demonstrate their skills in a highly competitive environment. Students conduct Door-to-Door SVEEP campaign in Doda Distt
Doda: A door-to-door campaign under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program was organized on the 8th day of the campaign, which commenced on August 22, 2024 for all schools in the Doda District.
The campaign was held under the guidance of District Election Officer Harvinder Singh and overall supervision of Chief Education Officer Doda, ParkashLalThapa, who is also the Nodal Officer for SVEEP
The campaign aimed to promote electoral awareness and encourage citizens to exercise their right to vote. Students, teachers, and other staff from various schools visited households, distributing voter awareness materials and educating citizens about the importance of voting in the upcoming Assembly Elections on September 18, 2024.
The door-to-door campaign was a key component of the SVEEP action plan, designed to reach out to citizens directly, address their queries and concerns about the electoral process, and encourage them to participate in the democratic process.

GLDM Degree College Hiranagar organizes Voter’s Pledge under SVEEP
Kathua: The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Govt GLDM Degree College Hiranagar, in collaboration with the NSS Unit of the College, organized a Voter’s Pledge on Saturday to raise awareness among students about the vital importance of voting rights.

Ramnagar : In a significant demonstration of civic engagement, a colossal voter awareness rally was held on Saturday in Ramnagar, drawing participation from all sections of society. Approximately 6000 people from across diverse sections of society including religious leaders, civil society members, women, labourers, persons with Disability, employees, new voters and future voters joined the awareness event.
The rally was flagged off by Sub Divisional Magistrate Rafiq Ahmad Jaral from the SDM office under the auspices of the SVEEP aimed to encourage maximum voter participation in upcoming elections on October 1, 2024.

SVEEP Awareness campaign engages Ramban youth
Ramban:The District Administration’s awareness campaign under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative is continuously making progress in engaging youth across Ramban district in the electoral process. This initiative is focused on increasing voter participation in the upcoming Assembly Election 2024.
Guided by District Election Officer (DEO) Ramban, Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary, the District SVEEP team organized awareness programs at Government Model Higher Secondary School (GMHSS) Ramban and Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban, with a strong emphasis on galvanizing youth involvement.
The series of inaugural programs kicked off on Saturday, starting with a morning session at GMHSS Ramban, where students actively participated by delivering speeches and creating artwork, all highlighting the importance of voting.

Plantation Drive under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Initiative aligned with SVEEP to Promote Voter Awareness in Kishtwar
Kishtwar: In a significant and innovative move to merge environmental sustainability with electoral awareness, District Election Officer, Rajesh Kumar Shavanon Saturday Kick started the “EkPedMaaKeNaam” initiative in the district by planting an indigenous tree species here at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) Kishtwar.
This initiative is part of a broader campaign launched by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Forest Department, aimed at honoring the nurturing role of mothers through dedicated tree plantation.
The drive was launched in conjunction with the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign to remind citizens of their dual responsibility–towards both the environment and the democratic process amid the Assembly Elections 2024.
“Planting a tree for our mothers is a beautiful way to honor their contribution, just as casting a vote is a vital way to contribute to our democracy” said Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan at the launch of the drive. He emphasized the critical importance of tree plantation as a means to enhance the green cover and contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment. Reasi: An Awareness Programme for Senior Citizens and PwD Voters under “Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation” (SVEEP) programme was organised at PanchayatSalalKote here on Saturday under the guidance of District Election Officer, ReasiVishesh Paul Mahajan.
This initiative is a part of a broader effort to ensure maximum participation of eligible voters in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.The event saw enthusiastic participation of a large number of Senior citizens.
SVEEP Team headed by Nodal officer Sachin Sharma imparted awareness to senior citizens and PwDs about the electoral process. They were encouraged to actively participate in the democratic process and exercise their franchise on 25 September 2024. They were informed Home Voting facility for the senior citizens in the age group of 85 years and above. Further PwD voters were made aware about the Saksham-ECI app that has many accessibility features that make it easier for them to register vote, find their polling stations and cast their vote.
The senior citizens and PwDs Pledge also took a solomen pledge to spread the message in their communities ensuring the higher voter turnout in the upcoming Assembly Elections.

Ramnagar: In consonance to the directives of District Election Officer SaloniRai, a mega awareness programme was organized by the Electoral Registration Officer Ramnagar, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, at Govt HSS Chowki.
The event saw the active participation of around 550 people, including students and local electors, who engaged in various activities designed to promote the importance of inclusive participation in the upcoming elections.
The programme featured a diverse range of activities, including sports events, a plantation drive, cultural performances, skits and a signature campaign. These activities were all centeredaround the common theme of encouraging every eligible citizen to participate in the electoral process.
As part of the event, students and locals planted approximately 200 saplings in collaboration with the Forest Department, underscoring the dual focus on environmental conservation and an eco-friendly election process.

Kathua: To promote voter awareness and the importance of ethical voting, a pledge-taking ceremony and awareness program were conducted on Saturday at Government Higher Secondary School, Bani, under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
Students from classes 11th and 12th actively participated in the event.
