Udhampur: In preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024, the District Election Cell Udhampur organized a Voter Awareness Programme under SVEEP at Shaheed Captain TusharMahajan Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Udhampur.
The event, held under the supervision of District Election Officer , SaloniRai, witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-time voters, staff members and students. The programme featured a cultural segment and other activities where school students creatively highlighted the importance of voter awareness, emphasizing the need for informed and active participation in the electoral process.
Deputy District Election Officer, Udhampur, Dr. AnirudhRai was the chief guest while Nodal Officer SVEEP, Dr. Preeti Sharma, was the guest of honour.
Principal of the school, PawanSlathia presided over the event.
The chief guest underscored the crucial role of youth in the democratic process, urging them and other citizens to ensure 100% voter turnout. He highlighted the significance of active participation in elections as a vital contribution to the development of the region.
