Jammu : The Cyber Cell of District Police Office (DPO) in Jammu has successfully investigated and resolved three online fraud cases, resulting in the recovery of ₹2.0 lakhs.
Reports said that the cases involved credit card fraud, work-from-home scams, and investment fraud, with the victims losing a total of ₹2,10,368. The Cyber Cell, utilizing their professional expertise and technology, was able to put a hold on ₹1,98,868 of the fraudulent transactions, preventing further financial loss. The timely intervention and professionalism displayed by the Cyber Cell have been praised by the authorities, who highlighted the importance of addressing online fraud and providing timely assistance to the public. The District Police Jammu in a statement issued here on Friday reiterated its commitment to tackling cybercrime and protecting the citizens from online threats. Details of the cases are as under :
Credit card fraud: ₹65,868, Work-from-home scam: ₹50,000, & Investment fraud: ₹94,500 (Total amount recovered: ₹2,00,000).
