Kulgam: The Nodal Officer for Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), Kulgam-AC, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat conducted a successful interactive session at BMS Katrasoo, Kulgam, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of voting.
The event saw active participation from senior citizens, men, women, and youngsters, reflecting the community’s keen interest in the democratic process.
During the session, Nodal Officer emphasized the pivotal role of every vote in the democratic system, encouraging participants to exercise their right to vote in the forthcoming elections.

SVEEP Campaign: Voters’ Pledge organised at DC Office Complex Samba
Samba : In a significant move to promote voter awareness and participation, the District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma spearheaded a Voters’ Pledge ceremony on Friday under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign. The event, held at the DC Office Complex, Samba, aimed to galvanize both the administration and the public in anticipation of the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of all district officials, including the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Chief Planning Officer (CPO), and other district officers and staff. The pledge was administered in both English and Dogri, reflecting the district administration’s commitment to inclusivity and reaching out to all community sections. This initiative was simultaneously conducted across all government offices and educational institutions in the district, underscoring a collective dedication to strengthening democracy through active electoral participation.
Following the pledge at the DC Complex, awareness posters were displayed to educate citizens on various aspects of the elections, including key dates, voter rights, and the technological measures in place to ensure a smooth and hassle-free electoral process. These efforts aim to encourage a higher voter turnout and foster a culture of informed and responsible voting.

Awareness prog on drug abuse under SVEEP initiative held at Shaheed Major Rohit Kumar GMHSS Ghagwal
Samba : An awareness program on drug abuse was successfully organized Friday at Shaheed Major Rohit Kumar Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ghagwal. The event was conducted under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative in collaboration with the Excise Department Samba.
The program aimed to educate young students about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society. District Election Officer (DEO) Samba, Rajesh Sharma served as the Chief Guest for the event.
In his address, the DEO highlighted the critical role of youth in combating drug abuse and encouraged the students to become community ambassadors against substance misuse. His motivational speech was well-received by the audience, inspiring students to take a stand against drug addiction.
A notable highlight of the event was a thought-provoking skit on drug abuse performed by the renowned Natrang team. The skit effectively conveyed the severe consequences of drug addiction and left a lasting impression on the audience. Ramban Admin intensifies voter awareness in Ramsoo Sub-Division
Ramban: To ensure vibrant participation in the upcoming General Election to Legislative Assembly , the District Election Authority, under the guidance of District Election Officer (DEO) Ramban, Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary, organized a series of voter awareness programs Friday in the Sub-division Ramsoo, falling under AC-55-Banihal.
The awareness drive, spearheaded by the District SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) team, took place at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramsoo, Government Higher Secondary School, Ukhral and in other key areas. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to target regions with historically low voter turnout, aiming to boost electoral participation.
The District SVEEP team, which included Assistant Nodal Officers Manjeet Singh, Abdul Hamid and SurajParkash, actively participated in the programme under the supervision of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, S. Bikram Singh.
The events witnessed significant participation, with a large number of local residents, prominent citizens, female voters and students taking part.

DEO Poonch conducts first Randomization of Polling Staff
Poonch: The District Election Authorities Poonch conducted the first randomization of polling staff on Friday as part of the ongoing preparations for the upcoming elections. This step ensures the impartiality and transparency of the electoral process by assigning polling staff to different locations in a random manner.
The randomization process was overseen by the District Election Officer Poonch, VikasKundal, ADC, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Deputy DEO Saleem Ahmed, CPO Mohd Rafi, Deputy Director Employment and other senior officials. This thorough exercise was carried out using advanced software to ensure complete fairness and eliminate any possibility of bias.
During the event, the DEO emphasized the importance of the randomization process in maintaining the integrity of the elections. He expressed confidence that the transparent assignment of polling staff will contribute to free, fair and credible elections in the district.
The second and final round of randomization is scheduled to take place closer to the election date, further ensuring that the electoral process remains impartial and transparent.
Election Training for poll staff held at Shopian
Shopian: In order to equip the polling staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process, a training session was Friday held here in the meeting hall of Mini-Secretariat Shopian.
Various aspects of election were discussed including operating EVMs and other electoral procedures to ensure that poll staff is well-prepared to oversee polling stations and facilitate a fair and efficient voting process on election day.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone presided over the training programme. He emphasized to acquaint the concerned with the necessary knowledge and skills for effectively carrying out their duties during the electoral process.
He further added that the training enables officials to understand the election system and learn handling and operation of various electoral procedures to ensure an error-free election process.
Master Trainers Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Irfan Ahmad and Bilal Ahmed imparted the training to the polling staff. The election officers and officials were present.
SVEEP Campaign held at Bahu-Jammu Assembly Constituency GHHS School
Jammu : Government Higher Secondary School Bahu Fort on Friday hosted a vibrant voter awareness event under the aegis of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP).
The event was convened by SVEEP District Nodal Officer (DNO), Sanjay Singh and his team of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), besides the guidance of Principal of the school, Anuradha.
The speakers urged the gathering to cast their vote as a sacred duty and take it as a top priority. Students presented a play and spread the message not to miss the vote at any cost.
MallikaSotra, BhumikaChettri, KirtiPagotra, AnmolSagotra, Naman, Shubam and Abhay participated in the play.
The program concluded with a pledge read by Palak and singing of the National Anthem.
Election Training Progheld for employees in B’pora
Bandipora: The District Election office Bandipora on Friday organised a comprehensive election training programme for employees at mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The training conducted in two sessions was aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a smooth and efficient election process.
The training provided by District Level Master Trainer (DLMT), M IqbalSamoon was attended by employees of different departments and covered various aspects of election management, including polling procedures, handling of election-related documentation and handling of EV
DLMT emphasised compliance with election laws and protocols to maintain transparency and integrity throughout the electoral process.
He also emphasised the importance of impartiality and professionalism, besides highlighting the role of employees in facilitating a fair and transparent election.
Similar training programme was organised at Dak Bungalow Gurez for employees posted in Gurez Subdivision.
SVEEP Prog held at Sedow, Shopian
Shopian: An awareness programme under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was on Friday held in Sedow, Shopian.
The programme was organised by District Nodal officer SVEEP Shopian, in which Principal HSS Sedow, Khursheed Ahmad, District Cultural Coordinator, Khursheed Ahmad Wagay and Sr. lecturer, Masood Ahmad were the lead campaigners.
The programme witnessed a massive gathering of people wherein they were motivated to exercise their right and cast their precious votes in upcoming Assembly Elections.
A couple of experts including District Cultural Coordinator delivered an expert talk highlighting the essence of casting a vote and power of vote.
Later, a door to door campaign was launched by various officers and officials of the Education Department for raising awareness among people of Sedow and adjoining areas regarding the essence of casting a vote.
SVEEP Walkathon held across schools in Doda Distt
Doda : In continuation of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program a walkathon was held across schools in Doda District, promoting electoral awareness and encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote.
Students, teachers and staff from different schools participated enthusiastically in the walkathon, carrying placards and banners with slogans emphasizing the importance of voting and democratic participation.
The event aimed to educate and motivate citizens, particularly young voters, to cast their votes in the upcoming Assembly Elections on 18th September 2024.
The walkathon was a district-wide initiative, covering multiple schools and locations, and was designed to reach a large audience. By organizing the event, the district administration and education department aimed to inspire young minds to become active participants in the democratic process.

School, Colleges lead charge in voter awareness with dynamic SVEEP activities across Kathua
Kathua: A series of impactful events were organized across various educational institutions across the Kathua district on Friday here under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
The activities aimed to promote voter awareness and ensure greater participation in the upcoming Elections scheduled for October 1, 2024.
At Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Kathua, a debate competition centered on SVEEP, showcasing the enthusiastic participation of students who presented their perspectives on voter education.
The event concluded with an insightful talk delivered by lecturer KapilJasrotia, highlighting key points discussed during the debate.
The competition was efficiently organized under the adept supervision of Principal Mangal Singh.
Following the debate, the staff and students took a solemn pledge, reaffirming their commitment to active participation in the electoral process.
In another event at GHSS Nagri Parole, a poem recitation competition was organized under the guidance of Nodal Officer AC 67 Kathua, JatinderSethi. This event aimed to raise voter awareness through creative expression, engaging the students in the SVEEP initiative.
AC 68 Hiranagar witnessed a day filled with SVEEP activities, starting at Govt. Higher Secondary School Kootah, where teachers and students took the Voter’s Pledge and launched a signature campaign to motivate their families and peers above 18 years of age to vote on election day. The activities extended beyond the school premises with a SVEEP walk in the wards of KootahPanchayat and home visits to encourage women voters. At Anganwadi Centers (AWC) Patta and Rasana, women pledged to vote, symbolizing their commitment by stamping with their voting fingers.
In 65-Basohli AC, a voters’ sensitization rally was organized by the staff and students of Govt. High School Sandhar.
The rally, featuring enthusiastic participants raising slogans and carrying banners, passed through the locality to urge the community to participate in the upcoming elections and vote in record numbers, celebrating the event as a festival of democracy. The event was carried out under the supervision of Nodal Officer SVEEP 65-Basohli, Dr. RoshanLal, and Headmaster Shiv Dev Singh. The rally also saw the participation of various community leaders, including Ex-Sarpanch, Kalyan Singh, Capt. Anchal Singh, Capt. Ashok Kumar, Sub. Ran Singh and social welfare workers such as Ritu Devi, SumanWala and Kamala Devi along with other members of the community.
Additionally, in 63-Bani AC, a friendly volleyball match was organized at GDC Bani by the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of the college. AC SVEEP Nodal Officer Prof. Naseeb Kumar Bhagat addressed the students on the importance of voting, blending sports with civic education to foster a sense of responsibility among the youth.
