Voter Awareness Prog Held in Tral Villages

Tral: Authorities in Tral conducted a voter awareness programme in several villages today, aiming to educate residents about the importance of casting their votes for genuine candidates.
The programmes were organized by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in six villages: Satoora, Narastan, Batagund, Pinglish, Monghama, and Aripal. The events were held under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) flagship program.
During the programmes, officials emphasized the importance of exercising one’s right to vote. An official has said that such programmes encourage active participation in the democratic process.

In-depth training imparted to Polling Staff at Samba
Samba: An in-depth training session for polling staff was conducted Thursday here under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Sharma. The training session was chaired by Ranjeet Singh, Nodal Officer for Training Management, and facilitated by the District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs).
The training focused on equipping polling staff with essential skills to efficiently operate Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) syste The DLMTs provided hands-on demonstrations and detailed explanations, ensuring that all participants gained a thorough understanding of both the technical and procedural aspects necessary for conducting a seamless election process.
In addition to practical training, the session covered the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The importance of strict adherence to these protocols was emphasized to guarantee transparency, efficiency, and integrity throughout the electoral process. The training underscored the critical role of polling staff in upholding the democratic process and ensuring fair and free elections.

DC takes on spot review of rescue, relief measures in Cloudburst-Hit Rajgarh
Ramban: Deputy Commissioner RambanBaseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulbir Singh on Thursday visited the cloudburst-affected area of Rajgarh. They met with the affected families to assess the situation and offered their condolences to the affected families.
Accompanied by a team of officials, the DC took detailed stock of the extent of the damage and the relief measures being made for the affected people and expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives.
DC Chaudhary highlighted the immediate and coordinated response initiated by the district’s Civil and Police Administration in the wake of the cloudburst on August 26, 2024. The rescue operations, launched in collaboration with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local Quick Response Teams (QRTs), have so far resulted in the recovery of three bodies from the seven reported missing. Search efforts continue with urgency to locate the remaining individuals.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of safety, particularly urging students to be extra careful while going to schools and advising all residents to avoid crossing the treacherous nallas during rains.

Segregation, Dispatch of EVMs completed for all 6 Assembly Segments of Kathua Distt
Kathua: The process of segregation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for all six assembly segments of Kathua district was on Thursday completed as per the laid down procedure of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The segregation was conducted under the supervision of the District Election Officer, Dr. RakeshMinhas, in presence of the Returning Officers (ROs) of all six assembly segments.
A total of 1,055 EVMs were earmarked during the process including 141 EVMs for 63-Bani, 195 EVMs for 64-Billawar, 160 EVMs for 65-Basohli, 165 EVMs for 66-Hiranagar, 196 EVMs for 67-Kathua (SC) and 198 EVMs for 68-Jasrota
Following the segregation, the EVMs for Bani, Billawar, Basohli, and Hiranagar assembly constituencies were securely dispatched to the designated Strong Rooms at GDC Bani, GDC Billawar, Government Model Higher Secondary School Basohli, and GDC Hiranagar under the escort of security tea
The segregated EVMs for the 67-Kathua (SC) and 68-Jasrota constituencies were successfully transferred to the Strong Rooms established within the premises of GDC Boys Kathua.
Pertinently, the six Assembly Constituencies of Kathua district are slated to go to the polls in the last phase of the Assembly Elections 2024, scheduled for October 1, 2024. ‎

DEO inspects Strong Room, Election Arrangements at Kishtwar
DEO flags off SVEEP Van launches Voter awareness campaign at Chowgan Ground
Kishtwar: District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavanon Thursday inspected the strong room and counting centers established in the premises of DC Office Complex for all the three Assembly Constituencies of the District.
The DEO conducted a thorough inspection of the Election Strong Room and Counting centre. He meticulously reviewed every aspect of the counting centre and security infrastructure for the Strong Room and other facilities. He emphasised the importance of the stringent security measures and directed the officials to maintain the log book registers at the strong room. He instructed that CCTV cameras be strategically placed to focus on the locks of the strong rooms ensuring continuous surveillance.
The DEO also reviewed the parking arrangement for vehicles deployed for election duty, stressing the need for an efficient distribution plan that prioritizes the farthest polling stations.
ASP Pawan Sharma, DIO Kuldeep Kumar, DySP DAR Sajjad Khan and other concerned were also present during the inspection.
The District Electoral Officer (DEO) also flagged off a SVEEP Van from the DC Office Complex, set to travel through local marketplaces to raise awareness about the electoral process.
Later, the DEO participated in the SVEEP campaign aligned with the concluding ceremony of the Inter Zonal District Level Kabbadi Tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, DEO Kishtwar encouraged youth participation in the electoral process, urging them to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for September 18 in the district.
