Kathua: SVEEP activities encourage voter awareness and participation
Kathua: As part of the ongoing efforts to bolster voter awareness and participation, multiple activities were successfully organized in the Kathua (SC)-67 Assembly Constituency under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.
These events, led by officers and community members, aimed to ensure that every eligible voter is informed, engaged, and motivated to participate in the upcoming elections.
A notable poster-making activity was held under the guidance of AC Nodal Officer Kathua (SC)-67. JatinderSethi with his active team members namely MeenuKalotra, JyotiJasrotia, and AashiaChoudhary, this event was a vital step in visually conveying crucial information about the electoral process.
Participants created impactful posters that highlighted key voting aspects, such as registration procedures, polling dates, and the significance of every vote. These posters serve as an effective medium to educate and encourage voter participation within the community.
Continuing the momentum, a major SVEEP event took place at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Kathua.
The event commenced with a heartfelt tribute to Major Dhyan Chand in celebration of National Sports Day 2024, honoring the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player. This tribute underscored the district’s commitment to national pride and civic duty, setting a meaningful tone for the activities that followed.
Students played a central role in the event, delivering impassioned speeches on the importance of inclusive voting practices. Their messages emphasized the necessity of broad voter participation in the upcoming elections, particularly encouraging marginalized groups, the elderly, and women to exercise their democratic rights.
Adding a creative dimension, students performed a skit that vividly depicted various aspects of voter engagement, stressing the importance of informed voting. The performance highlighted that every vote counts and that informed participation is essential in shaping the future of the nation.
These SVEEP activities, blending respect for national icons with strong voter education efforts, exemplify Kathua’s dedication to fostering a more inclusive and participatory democratic process.
The events are part of District SVEEP plan meticulously orchestrated by the District Election Office under the supervision of RO-67 Kathua (SC) VishavPartap Singh (ACR).

SVEEP activities promote voter awareness at Ramsoo in Ramban
Ramban: The District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of District Election Officer (DEO), Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary, has intensified its Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programs across the district.
The awareness programs are designed to educate the electorate about the significance of every single vote in a democracy and to inspire citizens to actively engage in the electoral process. These initiatives emphasize the power of the vote and its impact on shaping governance and public policy.
The District SVEEP team on Thursday organized awareness programs at Government High School Ramsoo, and in the market areas of Ramsoo and Magerkote, which fall under the 55-Banihal Assembly Constituency. The program was led by Assistant Nodal Officers Manjeet Singh, Abdul Hamid, and SurajParkash, under the supervision of the District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Bikram Singh. The SVEEP team from 55 AC-Banihal also participated in the program, ensuring a collaborative approach to reaching out to the local populace.
The SVEEP awareness programs witnessed enthusiastic participation from diverse sections, including local residents, prominent citizens, female voters, and students. The areas covered in the outreach were specifically chosen due to historically low voter turnout, with a focus on sensitizing the community about the importance of their right to vote and its profound impact on the future of governance.
Through its ongoing initiatives, the District Administration Ramban is committed to ensuring maximum voter participation in the forthcoming elections. Continuous engagement, education, and outreach activities under the SVEEP initiative are aimed at empowering every voter to make their voice heard.

Poster Making Competition held across District Doda Schools under SVEEP
Doda: A poster making competition, under the aegis of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, was organized across schools in District Doda under the guidance of District Election Officer, Harvinder Singh, and supervision of Nodal Officer SVEEP,(CEO) ParkashLalThapa.
The event aimed to encourage students to express their creativity and thoughts on the importance of participating in the upcoming Assembly Elections on September 18, 2024.
Students from various schools showcased their artistic talents, creating vibrant and thought-provoking posters highlighting the significance of voting, democracy, and civic engagement. The competition was designed to inspire young minds to become active participants in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote.
The event was a resounding success, with students demonstrating their enthusiasm and creativity. The posters will be displayed in schools and public spaces, serving as a reminder of the importance of electoral participation and encouraging others to cast their votes on September 18, 2024.
This competition has not only showcased the artistic talents of our students but also encouraged them to think critically about their role in the democratic process-ParkashLalThapa, Chief Education Officer Doda said.
The poster making competition was a fantastic initiative, promoting electoral awareness, artistic expression, and civic engagement among students in District Doda ahead of the Assembly Elections.

SVEEP: Chunav Pathshala organised at Govt Nursing College Reasi
Reasi: ChunavPathshaala under SVEEP programme was organised at Government Nursing College Reasi here on Thursday under the guidance of District Election Officer VisheshMahajan.
The event aimed at increasing awareness about the electoral process among first time voters and encouraged them to actively participate in the democratic process.
The students of college performed different activities viz. singing and symposium to sensitize the citizens about the importance of casting their vote.
Nodal Officer SVEEP Sachin Sharma addressed the faculty members, students, and ASHA Workers and made them aware about the importance of voting, the electoral process and their role as responsible citizens. He emphasised the importance of vote and encouraged young voters to exercise their franchise in the upcoming Legislative Elections 2024.
The event saw enthusiastic participation of young voters and ASHA workers. The event concluded with a mega Rally reaffirming their commitment to active participation in the upcoming elections.
Faculty members of Govt. Nursing College Reasi, officials of the Social Welfare Department, ASHA workers and students were present.

SVEEP event organised at GHSS Gurah Slathia to promote Voter Awareness
Samba : A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) event was held Thursday at Government Higher Secondary School GurahSlathia under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Sharma. The event was organized by Nodal Officer Sheetal for Samba (70) constituency.
The Chief Guest District Nodal Officer for SVEEP Ekshu Sharma addressed the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and members of Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs), highlighting the importance of diversifying awareness activities to increase voter turnout. She also discussed the role of technology in overcoming challenges related to voter engagement.
The event featured a skit performed by school children on the importance of voting, followed by the administration of a Voters’ Pledge.
As part of this SVEEP initiative, particular attention is being given to polling stations with lower voter turnout to ensure a successful electoral process in Samba.

Rangoli making event -Colors of Democracy- held under SVEEP in Udhampur
Udhampur: The District Election Cell Udhampurorganised a Rangoli making event titled “Colors of Democracy”under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program here in the DC Office and District Court Complex.
District Election Officer SaloniRai was the chief guest, while Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh was the Guest of honour and Deputy District Election Officer Dr. AnirudhRai and Nodal Officer SVEEP Dr. Preeti Sharma presided over the event.
The primary aim of the event was to engage citizens, particularly the youth in a creative and interactive manner to highlight the importance of exercising their right to vote.
SVEEP Nodal Officer DrPreeti Sharma provided valuable insights and raised awareness about the voting process during the event.
Students showcased their creativity by designing colourfulRangoli patterns that depicted themes such as voting rights and Electoral Participation.
While addressing the participants, the DEO encouraged young voters to inspire their families, friends, relatives, and neighbours to participate enthusiastically in the General Assembly Election-2024.
Meanwhile, several SVEEP activities including the musical chair event were also hosted in educational institutions in the district. A cricket match was organized in Mada, Chenani Assembly Constituency to engage youth. The event was attended by the Nodal Officer SVEEP – AC Chenani and TehsildarChenani.
During the event, election-themed songs were played and the participants displayed great enthusiasm.
Posters highlighting the importance of voting in a democracy were displayed and messages regarding the significance of casting a vote were conveyed to the participants. Locals also turned out in large numbers to witness and participate in the event.
