Srinagar :Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Srinagar initiated first leg of Prime Minister’s Scientist-Farmer interaction programme on Thursday at KissanKhidmatGhar, PanzinaraQamarwariSinagar.
The interface was attended by Officers of Agriculture and allied sectors, team of KVK scientists besides a large gathering of farmers, orchardists, vegetable growers, poultry / sheep/ dairy farmers, paddy growers and Agripreneurs hailing from several municipal wards and PanchayatHalqas of the District. The event was chaired by Dr. S A Simnanai, Head, KVK Srinagar and facilitated by agriculture sectoral officers led by AEO Zone QamarWari). At the outset, Dr Simnani briefed the participants about the PM’s Scientist-Farmer interaction programme. Marathon deliberations focused on various farming issues and the strategies to resolve the issues was held.
The need for hassle free registration on HADP portal for availing its benefits was highlighted. Issue regarding timely availability and supply of quality, high yielding and improved, climate resilient varieties of vegetables, paddy/potato and other cereal crops was raised by some of the participating farmers. Urgent need of dredging of SangamBulenNala (Soura) and NalaAmbir Khan water Channel (Mujgund) to augment the irrigation requirement was also expressed.
