RO Devsar accepts 10 nomination papers, rejects 1 after scrutiny

Kulgam : The nomination papers of 10 candidates have been cleared after scrutiny for 40-Devsar assembly constituency on Wednesday, the process of the scrutiny was held at the office of Returning Officer here.

According to official reports, out of 11 nomination documents examined, 10 were found valid, who have been cleared to contest in the Assembly Elections from the Devsar AC.

During the scrutiny, 1 candidate nomination paper were declared invalid, the rejected nomination belonged Dr. Abdul Bari Naik, (Independent candidate) leading to the rejection of his candidacy in line with Election Commission of India norms,

The candidates whose nomination have been found valid include Dr. Suhail Ahmad Bhat of Awami Itihad Party, National Conference Leader Faroze Ahmad Shah, Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Leader, Mohd Sartaj Madni, Mohd Amin Bhat of DPAP, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Apni party, Amanullah Mantoo of Congress, and Sheikh Fida Hussain of AAP, Rameez Ahmad Dar (Independent), Abdul Rouf Naik (Independent) and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, former member of (JeI) independent. Candidates have until Friday, Aug 30, at 3:00 p.m. to withdraw their nominations at the Returning Officer 40-Devsar. The constituency is slated for elections in the first phase of the General Elections, scheduled for September 18.
