Jammu: In a bid to curb illegal mining and hold violators accountable, Jammu Police has launched a crackdown on those involved in the illicit activity. The operation, conducted across various locations in the South Zone of District Jammu, resulted in the seizure of three vehicles.
According to a statement issued from District Police Headquarters Jammu a truck and a JCB machine loaded with sand were detained at Phallain Mandal by Police Post Phallain Mandal under PSI Harish Chander. Meanwhile, PP Greater Kailash, led by PSI Wasim Bhatti, seized a tractor trolley. Two vehicles were seized in the jurisdiction of PS Satwari, and one in Police Station Gangyal.
In its above quoted stated Police further said “the District Mining Officer has been informed to take necessary legal actions against the detained vehicles”. Police in its statement also reaffirmed its commitment to protect public property and eradicate the menace of illegal mining in the area”.
